CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police have charged the former manager of a McDonald's with stealing more than $1,700 from the business last month.

Angela Kay Pensinger, 29, address unavailable, was charged with theft by unlawful taking, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds and receiving stolen property, according to the criminal complaint filed with Magisterial District Judge Todd R. Williams' office.

The theft was reported May 15 from the McDonald's at 2891 Philadelphia Ave., police said. The owner reported that the deposit of $1,719.30 was logged in for May 1, but that F&M Trust had no record of the money being deposited.

Pensinger was interviewed May 15 at her home and again May 17 at the police barracks, but said she did not recall whether or not she made the deposit, police said. Pensinger resigned as manager June 1, police said.

On June 29, another employee told police she had participated in the theft, according to the affidavit of probable cause. The woman said she gave Pensinger the deposit bag outside the restaurant, then went back to work, police said.

Pensinger and the woman later bought cocaine and rented a hotel room, police said.

A warrant was issued for Pensinger and she was taken into custody Tuesday, a staff member at Williams' office said.

No charges had been filed against the other woman as of Tuesday, according to Williams' office.
