FREDERICK, Md. - Police charged a Frederick man with driving under the influence and other traffic violations Sunday at about 2 a.m., the Frederick Police Department said.
Officers were patrolling the area of the Fusion nightclub, 10 W. College Terrace, when they saw a vehicle hit a parked car while backing out of a parking space, police alleged in a news release. The driver of the first vehicle drove off after the collision, police said. An officer followed the vehicle on foot and knocked on the driver's window. The officer fell down and the vehicle drove off, but was stopped by another officer as it turned on Carroll Parkway, police said.
Carlos J. Arzetagaleana, 24, was also charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop after property damage, driving while suspended, driving without a license and attempting to elude police in a vehicle, police said.
