Lonnie and Debbie Spielman of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter Michelle Rae Spielman to James Brian Shaffer, son of James and Sally Shaffer of Bowie, Md.

Miss Spielman is a 1998 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and received a Bachelor of Science in health sciences from Duquesne University in 2002. She received a master's of physician assistant studies from Duquesne University in 2003. She is employed as a physician assistant at Menocal Family Medicine in Frederick, Md.

Mr. Shaffer is a 1995 graduate of Bowie High School, and received HVAC licensure through Frederick Community College and local 99. He is employed as a government contractor in Washington, D.C.


An Aug. 18, 2007, wedding is planned.


Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardy of Grand Rapids, Mich., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Lynn Hardy, to Wes R. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter "Jim" Rosko of Boonsboro, and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Stewart of Long Island, N.Y.

Miss Hardy received a Bachelor of Science from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids. She is employed as a social worker in Virginia Beach, Va.

Mr. Stewart received a bachelor's degree from Cornerstone University. He is pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Regent University in Virginia Beach. He is employed as a research analyst with the Regent University Center for Entrepreneurship.

A September 2007 wedding is planned.


Richard C. Holsinger and Sarah E. Moser announce their engagement.

Ms. Moser is the daughter of Lynda and Allen Moser of Hagerstown. Mr. Holsinger is the son of Bardona and Jim Woods and Bob and Trish Holsinger of Hagerstown.

Ms. Moser is a 2003 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and a 2007 graduate of Hood College in Frederick, Md. She is pursuing employment as a special education teacher.

Mr. Holsinger is a 2003 graduate of North Hagers-town High School. He is employed as a butcher at Holsinger's Meat Market in Maugansville.

Beth A. Mullen and Anthony P. Leone announce their engagement.

Ms. Mullen is the daughter of Steve and Jane Stetka of Chesterfield, N.J. Mr. Leone is the son of Antonio and Sandra Leone of Delanco, N.J.

Ms. Mullen graduated from Pemberton Township High School in Pemberton, N.J., in 1995. She is employed at Canon Business Solutions in Burlington, N.J.

Mr. Leone graduated from Pemberton Township High School in 1990. He served in the U.S. Navy for eight years and is employed at Commerce Bank in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Jennifer H. Gordon and Ernest L. Mellott Jr. announce their engagement.

Ms. Gordon is the daughter of the late Willis K. Van Metr and Judith M. Morningstar. She is the stepdaughter of George T. Morningstar of Hagerstown. Mr. Mellott is the son of Ernest L. Mellott Sr. of Clear Spring and Patsy Langenstein of Sharpsburg.

Ms. Gordon is employed with Capital Women's Care at Robinwood Medical Campus.

Mr. Mellott is employed with Hiab Inc. as a service technician.

Jennifer Lynn Mummert and Duane Edward Robinson announce their engagement.

Ms. Mummert is the daughter of Dorothy LeFevre of Martinsburg, W.Va., and the late Raymond Curtiss LeFevre. She is a 1988 graduate of Hedgesville High School. She is employed as an office manager assistant with Frontier Technologies in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Mr. Robinson is the son of Phyllis Kauffman of State Line, Pa., and Marvin Robinson of Hagerstown. He is a 1982 graduate of Greencastle Antrim High School. He is employed as a welder with MetlFab Inc. in Frederick, Md.

Kristy and David Danfelt of Williamsport, announce the engagement of their daughter, Candace Michelle Saunders, to Robert Earl Clark, son of Mary and Joe Young of Keedysville and the late William Earl Clark.

Ms. Saunders is a 1991 graduate of Williamsport High School. She is employed as a service coordinator with Culligan Water Conditioning in Hagerstown.

Mr. Clark is a 1996 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He is employed as a commercial service technician with Culligan Water Conditioning in Hagerstown.

Angelia Michelle Thomas of Hagerstown and Rodney Stotelmyer of Hagerstown announce their engagement.

Ms. Thomas is a graduate of Boonsboro High School and attended University of South Carolina and Hagerstown Community College. She is a geriatric nursing assistsant.

Mr. Stotelmyer is employed as a mechanic at a Hagerstown garage and is also a mechanic, maintenance man and painter for an apartment complex.
