HAGERSTOWN - Miss Pride of the Potomac Ryann Richardson, of Bowie, Md., walked away with two prizes Thursday, the final day of prelimaries for the Miss Maryland Scholarship Pageant at The Maryland Theatre.

Richardson's rendition of "One Night Only" from the movie "Dreamgirls" earned her the top talent score - a $200 scholarship - and the $100 prize for top Newcomer Talent, which is given to first-time pageant contestants.

The talent portion is worth 35 percent of the contestant's overall score.

As with Wednesday's preliminary competition, the top talent and swimsuit scorers were awarded scholarships.

Miss Caroline Summerfest Lindsay Staniszewski, of Swan Point, Md., won a $100 scholarship for earning the best score in the lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit competition.

The 20 Miss Maryland Contestants were scored across four categories: talent, fitness in swimsuit, evening wear and on-stage question. Judges completed the private interview portion of the competition Thursday.
