June 28, 2007

Maryland State Police on Wednesday were looking for a suspect in connection with a June 21 armed robbery at the M&T Bank at 14 W. Potomac St. in Williamsport, Sgt. Dave Bowers said.

Troopers released images of the man that were taken during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a man in his early to mid-20s, about 6 feet tall with a slender build, Maryland State Police said. The man was clean-shaven with a ruddy (reddish) complexion and was wearing a bright blue T-shirt and dark baggy jeans during the robbery, troopers said in a news release.

He also wore a blue print bandanna on his head and sunglasses with dark lenses, troopers said.

The robber went into the bank at about 2:30 p.m. and approached the teller window, showed a handgun and demanded cash, troopers alleged in a news release.

The teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money and he left heading west on Potomac Street, troopers said.
