The Humane Society of Washington County recently announced that Frederick Vorreyer of Hagerstown won the LuHowl '07 grand prize, a five-night cruise for two from Baltimore to Bermuda, aboard Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Sea.
The winning ticket was pulled from a drum recently at the home of Don and Jone Bowman, where the LuHowl event has been held for the past four years. Every purchased LuHowl '07 ticket provided an opportunity for the ticket holder to win the cruise.
"We are so excited about this cruise. I know we are going to have an absolutely wonderful time," Vorreyer said.
The LuHowl fundraiser raises money for the Humane Society of Washington County's DogSnip program, which provides funds for residents of Washington County in need of financial assistance in order to have their dogs spayed or neutered. This year's event raised more than $9,000 for the DogSnip program.
"This program is vital in our efforts to help reduce the number of unwanted litters of dogs in the county, and we are delighted to have raised this amount of money this year," said Paul Miller, executive director of the Humane Society of Washington County.
