City resident wins LuHowl cruise raffle

June 22, 2007

The Humane Society of Washington County has announced the winner of the LuHowl '07 grand prize, a five-night cruise for two from Baltimore to Bermuda, aboard Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Sea. The winner is Frederick Vorreyer of Hagers-town.

The winning ticket was pulled from a drum on Saturday evening at the home of Don and Jone Bowman, where the LuHowl event has been held for the past four years. Every purchased LuHowl '07 ticket provided an opportunity for the ticket holder to win the cruise.

"We are so excited about this cruise. I know we are going to have an absolutely wonderful time," Vorreyer said.

The LuHowl fundraiser raises money for the Humane Society of Washington County's DogSnip program, which provides funds for residents of Washington County in need of financial assistance in order to have their dogs spayed or neutered. This year's event raised more than $9,000 for the DogSnip program.
