Saturday events on tap in Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Cars, trucks and children will be the focus of downtown Waynesboro events scheduled for Saturday.

MainStreet Waynesboro Inc. will present a car and truck show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Pa. 16 in town.

The show, open to all vehicles through 1981, will award dash plaques to the first 100 entries. Forty trophies are to be awarded.

A breakfast, dinner and sock hop are scheduled at the Elks Club. Vendors and music will be found on Main Street, which will be closed from Grant to Broad streets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Library celebration

The Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library has planned activities to celebrate the reconstruction of its brick courtyard.

Children's crafts will be hosted in the courtyard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with face painting available from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Storytimes are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. A library tour will be featured at 11 a.m.

The Friends of the Library is hosting a book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and will continue it next week.

Musical activities include a barbershop quartet performance at noon and a Wayne Band performance from 11 a.m. to noon.

The Antietam Dairy truck will be there from noon to 2 p.m.
