Watson to become pastor at Keedysville church

KEEDYSVILLE - Salem United Methodist Church of Keedysville welcomes the Rev. Patricia Watson, or "Pastor Tricia," as its new pastor.

Watson is a graduate of Louisville Presbyterian Seminary and is a cum laude graduate of Elon University with a bachelor's degree in religious studies.

She will be commissioned by the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church, where she serves as a student pastor in the South Washington Circuit - a three-point charge appointment. After her commissioning, she will be on loan to the Baltimore Washington Conference until a transfer can be completed.

Watson grew up in Lusby, Md., and is a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She has served as in the camping ministry of the Baltimore Washington Conference as program staff at West River Camp.

Watson is very enthusiastic about her appointment and is looking forward to her new calling.

The new pastor will be accompanied by her husband, Dwight, and their cats, Calvin and Wesley.

Watson will preach and serve communion at Salem on her first Sunday, July 1.
