Health, wellness classes

The Chambersburg YMCA will offer health and wellness classes beginning today. Classes will be held for five week sessions.

Yoga, Monday at 5:15 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 9:15 a.m.; and Wednesday at 6 a.m. All classes are 75 minutes long and open to all fitness levels.

QiGong, a meditative martial art, Thursday evenings from 6 to 6:45 p.m. It is a non-impact activity.

CorePole classes, Tuesday and Thursday 5 to 5:45 p.m.; Thursday, 8:30 to 9:15 a.m.; and Saturday, 9 to 10 a.m.

Walk Fit & Strong is a walking class that incorporated abdominal strengthening and stretching exercises in to the twice a fitness walking week routine. Classes are held Monday and Wednesdays 7 to 8 p.m.

Nutrition and wellness Conference

Join the Washington County Hospital on Wednesday, June 20, for a regional conference Nutrition & Wellness Across the Lifespan: Prevention of Chronic Disease. Conference highlights include presentations on obesity, nutrition's effect on chronic illness, living healthy to live longer and more. Registration is $25 and includes breakfast and lunch. Caregiver's Forum

A seminar series offers practical tips for anyone providing care for a loved one on Thursday, June 14 at 11:30 a.m. The topic will be Advance Directives. Cost for lunch is $7. Life Line Screening

First-aid classes

The Berkeley County Chapter of the American Red Cross will be offering First Aid and CPR classes for the month of June.

· June 12 - Child/Infant CPR - 6 to 10 p.m.

· June 16 - Child/Infant CPR and First Aid - 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

· June 23- Adult CPR and First Aid

· June 25 - AED 6 to 8 p.m.

· June 26 - First Aid -6 to 10 p.m.
