Berkeley Co. to host hearing on tax increase

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Berkeley County Commission will hold a public hearing on June 14 at 2 p.m. in the County Commission Chambers, Suite 205, 400 W. Stephen St., to hear comments on a proposed increase in the county hotel/motel tax.

The Berkeley County Commission is proposing to increase the hotel/motel tax from 3 percent to 6 percent, The tax is paid on the use or occupancy of a hotel room.

The commission will accept oral and written comments at the time of the public hearing for consideration.
