One hurt in accident

June 08, 2007|by KAREN HANNA

A person was taken to Washington County Hospital after being struck Thursday night by a tractor-trailer outside a bar near downtown Hagerstown.

A Washington County Emergency Services dispatcher said the accident victim was reported struck on Thursday just before 11 p.m., and was taken to the hospital as a priority-one patient. People who are priority-one patients are considered the most seriously injured or sick.

After the accident, people stood outside their homes as police examined an area just outside Crossroads Bar & Grill on Madison Avenue. Blood still was visible on the pavement, and a tractor-trailer sat idling down the street.
