Club gives $500 for driver's ed classes

June 08, 2007

The Friends of Education Exchange Club recently presented a check for $500 for driver's education classes and associated fees for driver licensure to the Washington County Family Center.

The Family Center provides services to families with children under the age of 4. These services include educational services, case management, parenting classes, onsite childcare, peer support and health education. The donation from the Friends of Education Exchange Club will assist with the cost of driver's education classes and other fees for program participants to make them more self-sufficient and employment ready.

The Family Center is administered by the Washington County Department of Social Services. Social Services is a field office of the Maryland Department of Human Resources under the direction of Gov. Martin O'Malley and Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown.
