WAYNESBORO, Pa. - People attending Waynesboro Area Senior High School's graduation Friday will be asked to park away from the school's construction site and board shuttle buses taking them to the ceremony.

Family and friends of graduates will be asked to park at the middle school and Summitview Elementary School campuses, where nine or 10 buses will take them to Indian Stadium.

The pickup point following graduation will be just east of the intersection of Virginia Avenue and East Second Street.

Bus shuttle service will be available from 5 to 9:30 p.m. The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m.

East Second Street will be re-opened for the occasion.

The high school lost 251 parking spaces as part of ongoing construction, but 292 parking spaces will be available at Summitview and the middle school, according to a memo from Superintendent Barry Dallara.

Sixty spaces that remain at the high school will be set aside for handicapped people.

The district did not expect to lose the high school parking until June 11, but the work schedule changed, Dallara said.

The Waynesboro Police Department agreed to help buses loop from Virginia Avenue to Pa. 16 to Enterprise Avenue on the way to parking at the East Second Street schools.
