Free military concerts throughout summer

June 07, 2007|by TIFFANY ARNOLD

Even with two new acts in the lineup, the Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series at Hagerstown Community College keeps its patriotic theme.

The free concerts, organized by HCC's Alumni Association, starts Sunday at HCC's Alumni Amphitheater with the 229th U.S. Army National Guard Band.

Four other concerts are scheduled through Sunday, Sept. 9.

The Heritage Brass Quintet (part of the U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band) and the U.S. Army Field Band's Soldiers' Chorus are new to the series, Alumni Coordinator Lisa Stewart says.

The Heritage Brass Quintet, booked for June 17, will perform Civil War-era music, with a special tribute to the Battle of Antietam, Stewart says.
