Collins leads in mayoral race

BOLIVAR, W.Va. - Bolivar Mayor Ed Hall was defeated by council member Tim Collins in the race for mayor in Bolivar's town election Tuesday, according to complete, unofficial results.

Collins, who has served as mayor before, picked up 130 votes compared to the 100 votes for Hall, according to results.

There were three challenged ballots, town officials said.

Winners for five seats on the town council were Donna Callar, 169 votes; John Paul Heafer, 176 votes; Mary Rutherford, 186 votes; Robert Hardy, 185 votes; and Ron Moltere, 92 votes.

Other council candidates and their vote totals were John Kusner, 77 votes; Tommy Underwood, 77 votes; and Ron Thomas, 75 votes, according to results.

Recorder Jean Reed, who ran unopposed, received 210 votes.

Terms for the offices are two years.
