Railroad Heritage Days set for this weekend

The Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum is expecting a great turnout for what is billed as "the bigger-and-better-than-ever Railroad Heritage Days." The annual event takes place Saturday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Roundhouse Museum at 300 S. Burhans Boulevard.

Some of the scheduled activities include:

· Trains for kids to run - Trains of Christmas - Large operational model train layouts - "HO" & "O" gauge - The H&F Trolley No. 168 - 40 & 8 Locomotive;

· Law enforcement display - Local Fire and Rescue Display;

· Children's Village-Train Room - Antique Fire Truck;

· The C&O Canal Historical Society - Historic Military Displays;

· Betty Lou the Clown - Klyde the Engineer Robot and friends;

· Historic locomotive and caboose - Maryland Operation Lifesaver Displays;

· Food sales by West End Lions Club - J&B Hobbies;


· Plus several other displays and special guests.

The event sponsors include Hagerstown Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau (the CVB also donated the design and printing for the new Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum Brochure), CSX Hagerstown Terminal, the Train Room, Mainline Hobby Supply, Susquehanna Bank, Leiter's Fine Catering and Hagerstown Chapter N.R.H.S.

Admission: $4 for adults and 50 cents for children 12 and under. The Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum is at 300 S. Burhans Blvd. (U.S. 11), Hagerstown.
