4 Boonsboro students attend youth summit

Four Boonsboro High School AP history students and their teacher, Chris Spaid, recently attended the second Save Our History Youth Summit in Washington, D.C., according to a Washington County Public Schools press release.

The group presented a Save Our History project and met with congressional leaders, according to the release.

The students and their classmates have been working on the Sherrick House at Antietam National Battlefield, focusing on restoring the flooring, according to the release.

The History Channel hosted the first youth summit in New Orleans in 2006, and is providing grant money for the students' preservation project, according to the release.
