Shorebirds nip Suns

SALISBURY, Md. - Miguel Abreu hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie Saturday and lead the Delmarva Shorebirds to a 4-3 win over the Hagerstown Suns.

The Suns battled back to tie the game in the seventh inning on Francisco Guzman's leadoff home run off of Delmarva reliever Bruce Galloway.

The Suns took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI double by Mike Daniel.

The Shorebirds took the lead with three runs in the third off Hagerstown starter Jhonny Nunez, keyed by David Cash's two-run single.

Hagerstown made it 3-2 in the fifth when Justin Maxwell doubled and scored on Daniel's groundout.

Chris Marrero had two hits for the Suns.

Josh Wilkie took the loss in relief.
