The Masons

Mr. and Mrs. Lester L. Mason of Sharpsburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 24, 2007. A surprise party was held at Sharpsburg Bible Church given by their a, Debra Mason, Kim Kline and Tammy Bowers. The Masons were married Feb. 25, 1957, in Hagerstown. Mr. Mason (Sonny) is retired from Volvo Powertrain, formerly known as Mack Trucks and Lavinia worked at Rosen's in Downtown Hagerstown. They have seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Lavinia is the former Lavinia Fraley of Shepherdstown, W.Va. Mr. Mason has lived in Sharpsburg all his life.




The Pittmans

Lloyd and Dorothy Pittman of Hagerstown were honored Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, with a surprise luncheon at Mountain Gate Restaurant in Waynesboro, Pa., in celebration of their 60th anniversary. The luncheon was hosted by their daughter, Darlene Barr, and her husband, Bill.

The Pittmans were married Nov. 16, 1946, in Hancock. They met shortly after Mr. Pittman returned from serving in the South Pacific with the 20th Air Force during World War II. Mrs. Pittman is the former Dorothy Eaton of Great Cacapon, W.Va. She is a homemaker. Mr. Pittman retired from Mack Trucks in 1988.

The Pittmans have six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
