· Central Chemical

Contaminants found in Site soil, ground water, and sediment downstream of the site, include arsenic, lead, benzene, benzo(a)pyrene, aldrin, a- chlordane, g-chlordane, DDD, DDE, DDT, dieldrin, and methoxychlor.

· Letterkenny Army Depot PDO Area

According to tests conducted by the Army, groundwater beneath the Property Disposal Office Area and PDO Area surface water, including Rocky Spring Lake, are contaminated with low levels of chlorinated organic chemicals including trichloroethylene and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Soils have been contaminated by xylene, heavy metals, chloroform, and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

· Letterkenny Army Depot SE Area

In 1983, volatile organic compound contamination of the groundwater beneath the Letterkenny Army Depot Southeast Area was detected. In 1984, it was determined that the LEAD SE Area contained at least six major areas of VOC contamination and/or elevated levels of metals.
