The John R. Marsh Cancer Center, a department of Washington County Hospital, will host its 20th annual cancer survivors event Sunday, June 3, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Williamsport Red Men Lodge at 16129 Lappans Road in Williamsport. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m.
This year's event, "A Celebration of Life," is a summer picnic for cancer survivors, their families and friends. The event is open to all cancer survivors and there are hopes the event will draw approximately 800 attendees. There is no cost to the cancer survivor and a guest; however, registration is required. Additional guests are welcome to attend for $7 per person. Those younger than 12 will be admitted free. Souvenirs will be given to the first 300 survivors registered.
This year, the celebration will feature a picnic lunch that will include roasted chicken, potato salad and iced tea. All cancer survivors will be recognized, and entertainment will be provided.
