Know More - Redistricting

May 30, 2007

The issue: Redistricting is possible at many Washington County Public Schools, as officials act to relieve overcrowding and fill new schools scheduled to open in 2008.

What's new: More than 50 people attended a meeting Tuesday to discuss redistricting at Conococheague and Paramount elementary schools. Some students from those schools could go to a larger replacement school for Maugansville Elementary School.

What's next: The facilities and enrollment advisory committee will meet again to discuss redistricting. That committee eventually will send a recommendation to the Washington County Board of Education, which will make the final decisions.
