Library to sponsor 'Reading Road Trip'

Washington County Free Library is inviting children to go on a "Reading Road Trip" with a patriotic travel-themed reading club this summer.

This year, children can choose a game board based on their reading and interest levels. Sign-up begins June 1 at the library, any branch library and the bookmobile.

The kickoff for this year's club will be June 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library. A variety of games, crafts and other activities will be presented for all children who wish to sign up that day to start their very own "Reading Road Trip."

In July, the "Wildlife Adventures" animal program will present a program at the library and all seven of its branches.

On Aug. 17, the Hagerstown Suns once again will hold "Library Night with the Hagerstown Suns." All club participants who complete their game boards will receive a ticket to the game.

For information, call the Children's Department at the library at 301-739-3250, ext. 132, or send an e-mail to
