Intersection storm drain project is delayed

May 22, 2007

A storm drain reconstruction project at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and West Wilson Boulevard has been postponed until the end of May, according to a City of Hagerstown press release.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on or about May 30, work crews will begin excavating at the intersection of West Wilson Boulevard and Maryland Avenue to install new storm drain lines. The project is expected to continue until mid-August, and will involve lane closures and shifting lanes on all four legs of the intersection. Traffic on Wilson Boulevard will be reduced to one travel lane in each direction throughout most of the project.

Maryland Avenue will be closed to all traffic between West Wilson Boulevard and Downsville Road for a few weeks, beginning as early as June 4. During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone via Downsville Road and South Potomac Street.

For information, contact the city engineering department at 301-739-8577, ext. 125.
