FORT LOUDON, Pa. - A Chambersburg, Pa., teenager was killed and another injured Wednesday afternoon in a one-car accident in the 2200 block of Path Valley Road, according to state police and Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner.

Jessica A. Wenger, 18, a resident of the Nyesville area near Chambersburg, died in the 3:54 p.m. crash, Conner said. She was a passenger in a late-model Chevrolet Cavalier and was not wearing a seat belt, he said.

Pennsylvania State Police said the driver, Rachelle Marie Poper, 19, of Chambersburg, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier north when she lost control of the car. Conner said the car crossed the road, hit a small embankment and rolled onto its side.

The car's roof struck a tree, he said.

Police said Poper was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. She was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Altoona, Pa., and was in serious condition Wednesday night, police said.
