Citizens' government guide will be reprinted

May 16, 2007|by ANDREW SCHOTZ

A Washington County citizens' guide that had the governor's name misspelled will be reprinted, the county's election director said.

Several thousand copies of the guide listed Gov. Martin O'Malley's name as "Martin O'Malloy."

The Washington County Board of Elections gathered information for the guide, but missed the error during proofreading, Election Director Dorothy Kaetzel has said.

Citicorp Credit Services paid for the guides to be printed.

Kaetzel said the county will reprint about 3,000 copies of the guide using its own staff and equipment, then print more if they're needed.

The guides are given away at the Board of Elections and other public locations.
