Williamsport library plans open house

WILLIAMSPORT - The renovated Williamsport Memorial Library will hold an open house Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m.

The library's new look includes a new roof with copper flashing, new flagpole, new carpet, new ceiling tile, new window treatments, lights and newly painted walls and woodwork.

Comfortable furniture is a feature of the adult conversation and reading area. In the children's room, a portrait of Otho Holland Williams stands guard over his pistols.

Refreshments will be served.

The library is open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The lower level of the library houses several meeting rooms, a stage and seating area.

Nonprofit groups may reserve these areas during regular library hours for meetings or programs. Those interested in doing so may check with Librarian Susan Schnebly to determine availability.
