Some voters will have new polling places

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The following polling places have been changed for today's primary, according to the Franklin County Election Board:

· Chambersburg 3-1 has moved to Bard Hall in the Chambersburg Recreation Center, 235 S. Third St., from the First United Methodist Church on South Second Street.

· The polling place for Fannett-Sulpher Springs has been switched from the Amberson Community Center to the Amberson United Methodist Church, 18889 Amberson Road, Amberson, Pa.

· Quincy Township 2 voters will now go to the Central Baptist Church, 6025 Anthony Highway, Mont Alto, Pa., instead of the Quincy Township Building.

· Waynesboro 2-2 has been changed to the Waynesboro Ambulance Squad, 603 W. Main St., Waynesboro, Pa. For many years, voters in the precinct cast ballots at a private residence.

· In Waynesboro 3-2, polling will take place in the Fairview Avenue Brethren in Christ Church, 152 Fairview Ave., Waynesboro, instead of the Fairview Elementary School.

There are 74 precincts in the county, although just 72 polling places. Greene 6 and Letterkenny 2 share the Salem United Brethren Church, 2509 Letterkenny Road, Chambersburg. Washington Township 3 and Washington Township 5 share voting space at the Church of the Apostles, 336 Barnett Ave., Waynesboro.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Election results Tuesday night will be tabulated at the Franklin County Administrative Annex, 218 N. Second St., Chambersburg. They will be available online at the county Web site, www.co.franklin.pa.us, and on The Herald-Mail's Web site, www.herald-mail.com.
