Bike trail map is online

The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau has released a new Internet version of its new bicycle tours map and brochure for Washington County.

The online map and brochure include eight bicycle loop tours throughout Washington County, including one through Hagerstown. Each tour varies in length, from 10 to 34 miles, and explores a variety of terrain.

In addition to bicycle maps and routes, the new online guide includes pertinent safety information, a listing of local bike shops, points of interest, important links, and a brief history of the county.

Local singer to perform in DC

Fairplay resident Brenda Eyler will perform during a Women's National Basketball Association game on Tuesday, May 22.

Eyler, a gospel and contemporary country singer, will sing the "Star-Spangled Banner" before a game between WNBA teams the Washington Mystics and the Sacramento Monarchs. Eyler will perform again during halftime.
