WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Clusters of color dotted Main Street in Waynesboro on Friday, with balloons and flowers serving as visual reminders of the Mother's Day Open House.

The first-time event hosted by MainStreet Waynesboro Inc. continues today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MainStreet Waynesboro Inc. hosted a flower sale on Center Square for the event. Main Street Manager Carole L. Malin was busy replenishing supplies at midafternoon Friday.

The hanging baskets and garden flowers will be available again today.

The Waynesboro Lioness Club was scheduled to hold a bake sale.

Mothers were to be the guests of honor at this morning's "Breakfast in Waynesboro" presentation at the Elks Club, and downtown businesses will open their doors for shopping.

TranquiliTEA, at 117 W. Main St., will be catering to mothers during breakfast and afternoon teas.

MainStreet Waynesboro Inc.'s next event will be its second annual car and truck show scheduled for Saturday, June 23. A sock hop at the Elks Club is being planned to coincide with the vehicle show.
