Power hold off Suns

Andy Bouchie went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI as the West Virginia Power jumped out to a 7-0 lead and held on to beat the Hagerstown Suns 8-6 Wednesday at Municipal Stadium.

The Power (22-8), who lead the South Atlantic League Northern Division, scored six runs off Suns starter Cory Van Allen (0-2), who was done after three innings.

Down 7-0, the Suns (12-20) started their comeback with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Stephen King hit a two-run single and eventually scored on a single by Marcos Cabral.

The Suns cut it to 7-4 in the fifth as Alex Nunez scored from third on a sacrifice fly by Christopher Marrero.

West Virginia added a run in the top of the sixth, and Hagerstown got it back in the bottom half on an RBI double by Francisco Guzman.

The Suns scored their final run in the ninth on Marrero's RBI groundout.
