Theft of silver coins reported

Troopers were investigating the theft of $2,000 worth of silver coins from a residence at the Oak Ridge Apartments on Downsville Pike on Wednesday, Maryland State Police said.

The burglar took coins that were mostly old and silver, and had been passed down from previous generations in the family, according to a news release.

The burglar entered through a kitchen window and put the coins in a navy blue suitcase, troopers alleged.

Frederick man faces drug charges

FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick man was charged with drug crimes Wednesday night after the Frederick Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at 617 Chapel Alley, the Frederick Police Department said.

Officers learned about alleged drug activity at that home during an investigation at another location, police said in a news release. Police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the home, officers alleged.


One of the residents, Clinton Ross Connery, 23, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
