One of Barnes' vehicles was found in Virginia on Friday, two days after the robbery and carjacking, according to a news release.
Sheriff's deputies responded to an armed robbery at Williamsport Pharmacy, 31 N. Conocoheague St., at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, deputies said.
The robber showed a handgun, took oxycontin and other prescription medication, then ran away, deputies allege. The robber did not take any money, which led deputies to believe he is dealing with addiction, Sgt. Roy Harsh said.
About two minutes after responding to the robbery, deputies received an emergency call about a carjacking near Md. 68 and Spielman Road in Williamsport, Harsh said.
The carjacking victim saw a man wreck his vehicle. When she went to check on his condition, the man got into her vehicle and told her to drive, deputies allege.
The woman drove down Spielman Road until the carjacker told her to get out of the car, deputies said. The woman was treated at Washington County Hospital and released, according to police.
Deputies checked the registration of the wrecked car, which came back to Jamie Parker Barnes, Harsh said. People in the pharmacy during the robbery identified a photograph of Barnes as the assailant.
The carjacked vehicle, a 1998 Isuzu Amigo, was found in the Avis Mill Road area, deputies said.
Anyone with information may call Harsh at 240-313-2183.
