Plant sale, clinic planned Thursday

May 08, 2007

The Washington County Master Gardeners will hold a plant sale and plant clinic on Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Public Square in front of R. Bruce Carson Jewelers in Hagerstown.

The plant sale will feature hundreds of plants grown by Master Gardeners including perennials, herbs, fruits and shrubs. Several unusual plants will be featured including 4-foot "Fireworks" solidago, wild ginger, yellow scabiosa, dame's rocket, wood ferns and freckled violets.

Plants will be priced below retail. Visitors can save more by picking up discount coupons at the Washington County Agricultural Education Center on Sharpsburg Pike (Md. 65). All funds raised will support the gardening education programs of the Master Gardeners.

For more information on the event or the Master Gardener program, call Annette Ipsan at 301-791-1604. The rain date is Friday, May 11.
