During Sunday's motorcycle ride, a 54-year-old woman was injured when she was thrown from her 2001 Harley-Davidson.

The crash, which involved no other vehicles, happened just before 1 p.m. off U.S. 40 on Boonsboro Mountain Road, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department. The rider's name is Jacqueline Printz.

Additional details were not available from police.

Gidget Gallahan, a member of Women Build who helped organize the ride, said Printz was taken to Washington County Hospital and had "serious" injuries.

"She had a really bad accident," Gallahan said.

She said Printz's motorcycle malfunctioned and caused her to be thrown.

Gallahan said Sunday evening that she had visited Printz in the hospital, and said she was expected to be taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
