Centra Bank

Centra Bank at 13126 Pennsylvania Ave. was a major sponsor of the 22nd annual Home Builders Association of Washington County Home Show held March 10 and 11 at Hagerstown Community College.

The show featured more than 200 exhibitor booths.

Centra Bank partnered with Martin's Fine Furniture and Spichers Appliances to provide prizes for drawings. The two grand prizes were a painting from Martin's and a 32-inch flat-screen television from Spichers.

Christina Doucette of Hagerstown was the winner of the artwork, and Susan Lohman, also of Hagerstown, was the winner of the television.


Valpak of Cumberland Valley

Valpak of Cumberland Valley, a local independent franchise of Valpak Direct Marketing Systems, is teaming up with the Totem Pole Playhouse and NBC 25 to promote the NALC's annual Stamp out Hunger campaign.

The drive will be held May 12, and donations will help replenish local food banks.

Consumers can donate by leaving nonperishable food items by their mailboxes or in post offices on May 12. Letter carriers will deliver all donations to local community food banks, pantries and shelters.

For the fourth consecutive year, Valpak, one of North America's leading direct mailers, will be a national sponsor, promoting the event on nearly 45 million Valpak envelopes nationwide and on the company Web site at

The timing of the food drive is scheduled to meet the needs of children whose families rely on the government-subsidized school meal program. While food banks tend to receive large donations during the holiday seasons, they often run low during the summer months.

Associated Builders and Contractors

The Associated Builders and Contractors Inc., Cumberland Valley Chapter, held its third annual General Contractors Showcase on April 19 at the Four Points in Hagerstown.

More than 150 people attended the event, which provided an opportunity to meet professionals in the construction industry. Booths were made available to ABC CVC general contractors members only.

The following general contractors set up displays for the event - Brechbill and Helman Construction Inc., Callas Contractors Inc., GRC General Contractor Inc., Minghini's General Contractors Inc. and Waynesboro Construction Co. Inc.

CNB Financial Services Inc.

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - CNB Financial Services Inc., the parent company of CNB Bank Inc., had consolidated net income of $626,000, or $1.37 per share, for the quarter ended March 31.

That compared to $532,000, or $1.16 per share, for the same period in 2006.

Roy Rogers

RANSON, W.Va. - A grand opening was held April 17 for Roy Rogers Restaurants' first restaurant in West Virginia at Potomac Marketplace in Ranson.

The 3,500-square-foot restaurant is owned by Plamondon Companies in Frederick. It will be managed by Joey Kessel of Harpers Ferry, W.Va. His team will include three managers and more than 35 employees.
