Friends of Legal Services holds annual book sale

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -Friends of Legal Services will hold its annual book sale from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 11; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12; and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at Wilson College's Laird Hall, 1015 Philadelphia Ave. On Sunday patrons will be able to fill a grocery sack with books for $5.

More than 60,000 new and used books of all types, plus CDs, maps, sheet music, magazines, audio cassettes and videotapes will be sold.

Rare books and collector's items will be offered for sale by silent auction. The books include "A Sketch of the 126th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers," Chambersburg 1869; "History of Perry County" by H.H. Hain, 1922; and "Trail of the Lost Dutchman" by Barry Storm, 1939. A number of Civil War books will be included in the silent auction.

Proceeds from the sale benefit local non-profit organizations that provide legal services to low-income residents and victims of domestic violence.
