MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two men were arrested early Wednesday on misdemeanor drug possession charges after police said they discovered one of them staggering along a fence near an adult entertainment club, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Evan Jerome Ebanks of 118 Auburn Place in Frederick, Md., and Michael Craig Miller of 45 Stuckey Court in Martinsburg, W.Va., each were charged with possession of a controlled substance. They were arraigned by Magistrate Jim Humphrey who set a $10,000 bond for Ebanks and a $5,000 bond for Miller.

According to a complaint filed with the court by West Virginia State Police troopers J.D. Burkhart and W.M. Roden, Ebanks, 33, had 13 ecstasy pills in his possession and Miller, 44, had three pieces of crack cocaine.

The troopers said they were patrolling the area just outside of Martinsburg and noticed Miller staggering about 12:53 a.m. near Legz Club at 80 Aero St., according to the complaint. When Miller was asked what he was doing, the officers said they were told he had lost his car keys and he was looking for them.

The officers said they found Miller's keys in the ignition of the Ford Mustang he was driving and found Ebanks passed out in the passenger seat. According to the complaint, Miller said Ebanks was drunk, but the officers said they didn't smell any alcohol on either of the accused, according to the complaint. Miller removed crack cocaine from his pants pocket after he was asked if he had anything illegal during a patdown by Burkhart, the officers said. Police found the ecstasy in Ebanks' pants pocket when he was patted down, according to the complaint.
