Man, woman charged following dispute in Martinsburg

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two Martinsburg residents were arrested after police responded to their home at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday for a report of a shots fired and found a woman with severe injuries to her hands, according to a Martinsburg Police Department press release.

Police said Britney Levier, 18, of 738 Winchester Ave., injured herself during a dispute with Danny Rhodes, 32, by putting her hands through a window. Levier, who is charged with domestic battery and obstructing an officer, was taken to City Hospital for treatment.

After Levier allegedly assaulted him, Rhodes allegedly pulled out a handgun in the kitchen and fired three rounds. Two bullets went into a neighboring house, but no one was hurt, police said.

Police said they found about seven ounces of marijuana in the home.

Rhodes is charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, according to police.
