Seminar for health-care leaders

Hagerstown Community College's Center for Continuing Education, Washington County Hospital, and the Nursing and Allied Health Advisory Committee will sponsor a seminar for health- care leaders from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Robinwood Medical Center.

This 14th annual seminar, "Building a culture of leadership - What will your contribution be?" features guest speaker Virginia Beeson, director of leadership development and a faculty member at The Nursing Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C.

Participants will learn how health-care providers are creating a positive health-care culture, the characteristics of a victim culture, how to overcome victim behavior in health care, and more.

Free skin cancer screenings

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -City Hospital's Wellness Center staff and local dermatologist Dr. Jerry Hahn, will perform free skin cancer screenings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, in the McCormack Center on the City Hospital campus.

Advance registration is required for this program and the screening is limited to the first 70 callers. This free skin cancer screening service is being offered as a community service of the WVUH-East Regional Cancer Program, the Ralph Lauren Polo Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
