Pharmacist shot at Frederick CVS

FREDERICK, Md. - A 63-year-old pharmacist was flown to Washington County Hospital after he was shot by a man demanding narcotics Sunday afternoon in Frederick, according to a press release from the Frederick Police Department.

Police said a white man in his 50s with graying hair approached the drive-in window at the CVS Pharmacy at 2040 Rosemont Ave. and demanded drugs at about 3:45 p.m. When the pharmacist closed the window, the man fired at least three rounds, with one bullet striking the pharmacist in the shoulder.

Police said the shooter got in a small red car and drove away.

Police said the pharmacist's injury did not appear life-threatening. The victim's identity was being withheld Sunday pending notification of his family.
