Washington County Museum of Fine Arts will offer the following classes:

For adults and teens

· Landscapes in watercolor - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 1 to June 5. Instructor is Kent Roberts.

For children

· Art for toddlers: Fun with Paint for ages 2 and 3 - 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., or 11 a.m. to noon Fridays, May 4 to June 8. Instructor is Allison Weaver.

· Mothers Day workshop for children ages 6 to 12 - 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Instructor is Allison Weaver.

Ragtime Dance and Flying Dragons

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The next Arts Express workshops will feature Ragtime Dance and Culture with Nancy Walker and Flying Dragons with Cynthia Lawrence-Fink. 6:30 to 8 p.m., students must be checked-in at 6:20 p.m., picked up by 8 p.m. Eugene C. Astronomy for Everyone

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Join Jason Best of the Shepherd University Observatory in an exploration of the universe. Using the night sky as a backdrop, students will learn about the history of astronomy from ancient to modern times as well as current issues and events in astronomy. Spring gardening 101 series

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Franklin County Master Gardeners will offer Spring Gardening 101 classes. 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays, May 5 and June 2.

Classes include:

· May 5 - Container gardening. Donna Berard will explain container selection, placement, soils, plant combinations, fertilizers, and pests and diseases. Participants will take home a small container garden. $20.

· June 2 - Your landscape from dream to reality. The class will help participants assess their needs, find the right plants, and address maintenance and problems in their home landscape. Held at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center garden. $10.

Forestry workshop

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - The workshop will include the topics: "Woods in your backyard," professional assistance for your woodland, conservation easements, portable sawmills add value to timber, Woods Walk: The Gibson Family Farm, portable sawmill demonstration. Hosted by The Woodland Owners Association and the West Virginia University Extension Service. 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the program starts at 9 a.m. Needwood Farm, near Harpers Ferry. $10, includes lunch and materials. Make and take fly tying workshop

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Local fly-fishing expert Sterling Buzzell will lead a "make and take" fly tying workshop for beginners ages 15 and older. All tying materials will be provided. Renfrew Park, 1010 E.
