Suns can't finish what they start

April 23, 2007

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Hagerstown Suns scored three runs in the first inning with the help of RBI doubles by Brett McMillan and Leonard Davis, then managed just two more hits the rest of the way as the Lakewood BlueClaws took the lead on Jay Miller's two-run homer in the eighth and claimed a 4-3 victory Sunday afternoon.

Lakewood (6-7) scored one run in the second and another in the third. In the second, Joel Naughton doubled and later scored when Julian Williams grounded into a fielder's choice. In the third, Adrian Cardenas doubled and scored on Gus Milner's groundout.

Miller's homer, off Suns reliever Gene Yost (0-1) was his first of the season.

Hagerstown (6-11) starter Edulin Abreu worked six innings, allowing five hits while striking out four.
