Two appointed to Planning and Development Council

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Del. Jonathan Miller, R-Berkeley, and John Reisenweber, former Martinsburg representative for U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, have been appointed to the Eastern Panhandle Regional Planning and Development Council by the Berkeley County Commission.

Reisenweber resigned from his post with Capito earlier this month to accept an executive banking opportunity with Centra Bank in Martinsburg. Reisenweber replaces Daryl Bryarly.

Miller was elected in November 2006 to represent southern Berkeley County residents in the 53rd District of the House of Delegates. Miller replaces O.R. Hardman.

Commission OKs Fire Board appointment

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Berkeley County Commission unanimously approved the appointment of Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Co. Vice President Rodney Crowell to the Berkeley County Fire Board.

Commissioners Ronald K. Collins and William "Bill" Stubblefield accepted Commission President Steven C. Teufel's preference to fill the board seat being vacated by Thomas Puffenburger because of term limits.

Crowell was chosen over Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Chief Michael Nichols and Gregory S. Noll of the Baker Heights Volunteer Fire Department.

Crowell is expected to serve a three-year term.
