City police respond to calls



The Hagerstown Police Department recently responded to the following incidents:

Monday:

· At 8:16 a.m., a burglary involving construction tools was reported in the 200 block of East Washington Street.

Sunday:

· At 7:52 a.m., a theft of meat was reported in the 700 block of East Wilson Boulevard.

Saturday:

· At 4:51 p.m., police responded to reports of thefts at Circuit City and Wal-Mart on Garland Groh Boulevard.

Friday:

· At 9:16 a.m., an incident of disturbing school operations was reported at Antietam Academy's middle school facility at 1300 Marshall St.

· At 3:13 p.m., a second-degree assault and incident of disturbing school operations were reported at Antietam Academy's middle school facility at 1300 Marshall St.

Thursday:

· At 8:30 a.m., a theft of cash was reported on West Side Avenue.

· At 10 a.m., a trespassing was reported at South Hagerstown High School at 1101 S. Potomac St.

· At 12:30 p.m., a second-degree assault was reported at E. Russell Hicks Middle School at 1321 S. Potomac St.

· At 12:30 p.m., a second-degree assault was reported at South Hagers-town High School at 1101 S. Potomac St.

· At 7:17 p.m., a second-degree assault was reported in the 100 block of North Cannon Avenue.

· At 10:27 p.m., an incident of damage to property was reported at Wheaton Park.




Sheriff's deputies respond to calls



The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following incidents, according to Lt. Mark Knight:

Tuesday, April 18

· At 8 a.m., damage was reported in the first block of Martin Street in Clear Spring. A window was broken out of a home, causing $100 worth of damage.

· At 9 a.m., damage was reported at Old Forge Elementary School, 21615 Old Forge Road. A vehicle drove on the lawn, ruining the grass.

· At 2 p.m., damage was reported in the 13400 block of Blairs Valley Road. Two vehicles had rear windows broken out, which caused about $400 damage.

· At 3:30 p.m., theft was reported at Kohl's, 17145 Cole Road. A canteen truck, and a safe inside the truck, were broken into and money was taken.

· At 6:30 p.m., a driving while intoxicated arrest was made at the intersection of Sherman Avenue and Englewood Road. Timothy Townsend Sr., 43, was also charged with possession of drugs.

· At 7 p.m., theft was reported at Faith Christian Fellowship church, 16726 Lappans Road. The church was reported broken into and a jug of money was missing. A safe was also broken into.

· At 7 p.m., theft was reported in the 10600 block of Peachtree Lane. A home was broken into and two handguns and about $9,600 in jewelry were missing.
