Dance-inspired workout

Gold's Gym at 562 Northern Avenue in Hagerstown is starting a new dance-inspired workout with a free introductory class and after-party Friday, April 20.

Get Fit 2 Da Funk is for ages 16 and older. Space is limited. Call Kat Smith at 301-733-5010, ext. 7, to reserve a spot.

The free introductory class starts at 5:45 p.m. A DJ dance party with free food, beverages and prizes for class members will follow the class.

People interested in enrolling in subsequent class sessions should contact the membership department at Gold's Gym to sign up.

Hagerstown MS Walk is Saturday

Hagerstown's MS Walk will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg.


Registration is open for the 2007 MS Walks, hosted by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Maryland Chapter. The walks will take place in 12 communities across the state during the month of April and will feature family-friendly 5-kilometer routes.

Program about men's health

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -West Virginia Univesrity Hospitals-East and West Virginia Univesrity Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Eastern Division will sponsor a program, "It's A Man Thing," from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Erma Byrd Health Professionals Education Center on the City Hospital campus. Sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m.

The program will offer an overview of various men's health issues such as prostate and testicular cancers. Urologist Dr. Stanley Zaslau from West Virginia University School of Medicine and West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown, will be the featured speaker.

Zumba fitness program

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission will offer a zumba fitness program from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays, April 19, through May 24, at Jefferson County Community Center, 235 Sam Michaels Lane. The cost is $30 per session.

Zumba fitness is a Latin-dance style class that uses high-energy moves and dance combinations. No dance experience is needed. Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers.
