Terrie Angle, a professor of English as a second language (ESL) and foreign languages, was named Hagerstown Community College's Faculty Member of the Year.

Angle, of Hagerstown, has been an instructor at HCC since 1988.

She has taught French, Spanish and English at HCC, French at Mack Trucks Inc. and Tecksol Industries, and Spanish at Robinwood Medical Center and the Washington County Sheriff's Department. From 2003 to 2006, she was the chair of HCC's English and Humanities Division.

She currently teaches ESL classes and French.

Mountain View Reclamation

Mountain View Reclamation employee Mike Benchoff recently was recognized by Waste Management for 20 years of employment.

In his current position as lead operator, Benchoff oversees the day-to-day operation at Mountain View.

Mackintosh Inc.

ANNAPOLIS - Stephen "Buzz" Mackintosh, co-owner and general sales manager of Mackintosh Inc.Realtors, recently was honored by the Maryland Association of Realtors (MAR) for his dedication to the real estate industry, according to a prepared release.


A trustee on MAR's Realtor Political Action Committee for more than two years, he was the recent recipient of the RPAC Chairman's Award, presented annually to the trustee who has shown outstanding service to the industry.

Mackintosh Inc. Realtors has offices in Hagerstown, Hancock, Frederick and Mount Airy in Maryland. The organization holds real estate brokerage licenses in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.


John Secrist of Laurel, Del., has joined NEMF as manager of the company's Hagerstown terminal at 14557 Industry Drive.

He will have overall responsibilities for day-to-day operations at the 34-door facility, which is the base for 26 daily pickup and delivery routes.

Secrist previously held positions in customer service, operations, sales and management at Con-Way Freight.

He has an associate degree in financial services from Hagerstown Junior College.

Digitimage llc

Colter Heurich of digitimage llc won first place at the Maryland Professional Photographers Association Print Competition in Columbia, Md.

His image from an assignment for the Inn at Antietam was recognized for its creativity and quality.

Heurich is employed as the operations director for digitimage llc, a local photographic business offering commercial photographic services.

Heurich graduated from Smithsburg High School and Hagerstown Community College.

Simplicity Salon and Spa

Melinda Bridendolph and Melissa Schriver of Simplicity Salon and Spa in Hagerstown recently completed a four-day extreme-cutting class at Redken Exchange in New York City.

Also, the professional staff at Simplicity took a business-building class with Connie Westrich of Redken.

Simplicity was named Salon of the Month by Takara Belmont, a leader in furnishings and equipment for salons and spas.

The business also is to be on the May/June cover of Columbia Beauty Supply catalog.

Plamondon Enterprises

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Plamondon Enterprises Inc. has announced the promotion of Talmer Curry to general manager.

Curry joined The Plamondon Companies as an hourly associate at the Brunswick Roy Rogers in 2002 and was promoted to assistant manager in August 2005.

Curry was named Rookie Manager of the Year in 2005 and awarded Manager of the Year in 2006.

He is a graduate of Brunswick High School and attends Frederick Community College.

STH Inc.

FREDERICK, Md. - Robin Galicic recently joined STH Inc. as manager, Inside Sales Services.

She will be responsible for the functions of the inside sales and administrative departments.

Galicic, of Point of Rocks, Md., previously was executive director of the Arthritis Foundation, and has more than 20 years of experience in management and sales.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Tim Hafer, CRS, GRI, SRES, of RE/MAX Real Estate Group, has been named the No. 1 RE/MAX agent in West Virginia for the fourth time.

Hafer is the co-founder of RE-MAX Real Estate Group in Martinsburg and Charles Town, W.Va.

The LUTCF is conferred on those who meet or exceed the standards determined by the two organizations that sponsor the designation, the American College and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
