Man charged with selling marijuana

A man was charged Friday night with dealing marijuana near the Washington County Free Library in the 100 block of South Potomac Street, according to a Hagerstown Police Department press release.

Aaron Wayne Vaughn, 26, of no fixed address, was charged with distribution of marijuana, two counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, two counts of possession of marijuana and two counts of possession of CDS paraphernalia, according to the release by Hagerstown Police Department Sgt. Jim Robison.

Vaughn allegedly sold $60 worth of marijuana to a confidential narcotics informant in a parking lot next to the library, according to the release. Police seized a bag of marijuana from Vaughn when he was detained, according to the release.

The police department's Street Crime Unit orchestrated the undercover operation, according to the release.

Sheriff's Department responds to calls

The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following incidents, according to Sgt. Roy Harsh.



· At 7:48 a.m., mail was reported taken from a vehicle on Moose Lane.

· At 8:17 a.m., a breaking and entering was reported in the 20100 block of Lappans Road. Locks were found broken off units at Boonsboro Storage Facility.

· At 9:16 a.m., cash, prescription drugs and a handgun totaling $500 were reported stolen in the 11900 block of Bakers Lane.

· At 2:26 p.m., tires, wheels, radio, speakers and airbags were stolen from a 1998 Honda sitting along the road near Halfway Boulevard and Irene Drive. The value of the theft was $3,000.
