Greencastle-Antrim Primary School to hold kindergarten registration

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle-Antrim School District will hold kindergarten registration for the 2007-08 school year.

Registration will be at Greencastle-Antrim Primary School at 504 E. Leitersburg St. in Greencastle. Registration dates are April 18, 19, 20, 23 and 24.

The registration process will include visual, hearing and speech screening.

Parents will need to bring the following to registration:

· Your child

· Birth certificate

· Immunization records

· Social Security card

· Two proofs of residence

State law requires that all children entering school are to be immunized against the following:


· Diphtheria and tetanus: Four or more properly spaced, with one dose given at 4 years of age or older.

· Polio: Three or more properly spaced doses.

· Measles (rubella): Two doses. First dose given at 1 year of age or older.

· German measles (rubella) One dose given at 1 year of age or older.

· Mumps: One dose given at 1 year of age or older (preferably MMR).

· Hepatitis B: Three properly spaced doses.

· Varicella (chicken pox)" One dose at 1 year of age or older, or had the disease.

To enter kindergarten, a child must be 5 years of age before Sept. 1, 2007.
